✨ Ganon’s Blessing ✨

kink at pride is easy af to explain to kids, idk what yall are talking about. “mommy, why is that mostly-naked man wearing leather?” because lots of gay men think it looks nice. “why is that guy on a leash with a mask?” hes playing pretend. “why does she have a whip?” she thinks its fun. you know how you like to play with water guns? its like that but only for grown-ups, and she wont play with anyone who doesnt want to play with her so we’re all totally safe

if your 6yo’s next question is “is that a sex thing?”, thats fucking wild and a completely different problem. for you. not really an “Us Problem” collectively for all pride-goers, tbh. something’s going on there thats hard to call the dominatrix’s fault

homophobes think that being gay is already a weird sex thing thats hard to explain to kids. did yall forget that already? why are you trying to play respectability politics for people who will never respect you?

A room called ‘The Doll Room’ that’s full of dolls is… mundane.

But a room called ‘The Doll Room’ that only has one doll in it? That’s fresh

If a person shows you their Doll Room and it’s full of dolls, they probably just like dolls, y’know? It’s normal, it’s a hobby

But if they show you their Doll Room and it only has one doll… something’s going on with that one doll!

room called the doll room and theres a mirror and nothing else. the door closes

Feminism isn’t “Women vs Men”

Feminism is “Us vs The Patriarchy”

And “Us” includes everyone.

the patriarchy is the men btw.

No, it’s not. The patriarchy is a system. Women can also enforce the patriarchy. Women can be and often are misogynistic and sexist.

Understanding the difference between a hierarchical system and individual human beings should be feminism 101.

Not queer as in “queer is not a slur” but queer as in “I do not give a fuck if its a slur, you don’t get to censor my identity regardless”. Queer as in “I HOPE my identity upsets you”. Queer as in “my identity is not only a slur but a threat”

queer as in “every word we have used to describe ourselves has been turned around and used against us. so no, i will not surrender another word to those who wish to shame us out of existence.”

The plot of the game starts because the main character is bored! Reality ended and restarted about five minutes ago and the forces responsible for ending it are still trying to destroy everything, you just don’t know it yet. You stop paying attention to the box containing the dragon egg of prophecy for, like, two minutes and a box loving creature steals it for its box fort and now you have to do a whole retrieval quest to find the egg! The hatchling from the other egg gets extremely murdered immediately after hatching so the evil guy it ended up with can have an undead skeleton dragon. You have a goofy paladin friend who makes puns and loves fighting zombies! He spent most of his life believing himself to be the sole survivor of a zombie plague that he witnessed slaughter his hometown. There are pirates and ninjas and they have a rivalry! And also monkeys! All of reality is fundamentally post-apocalyptic and there is a very good chance you will never comprehend this, even though the memories of witnessing everything end are still there, buried deep in your mind. Chickencows exist! Chicken + cow = chickencow! They have a god who accidentally made bacon a fundamental building block of reality that one time! There are two characters who were born fundamentally disconnected from a central part of the world and one of them became a genocidal fascist about it and the other became a cheese-themed half of a Batman and Robin parody duo. There’s a zany wacky magic guy who makes weird weapons and turned a building into a fish once! He’s one of maybe three people who remembers reality before it was rewritten. There’s a bunch of silly parodies of pop culture stuff, like Scooby Doo! You break down sobbing at your best friend’s grave after being the last one to leave his funeral.

Honestly, in my work as a therapist, I’m seeing this A Lot, and tbh I still don’t have a satisfactory approach to it. A heavy dose of Existentialist “create your own Purpose” tempered with “when the plane’s going down, put your own oxygen mask on first”, but… yeah, there is no ethical way to work on individual emotional distress without acknowledging the systemic socioeconomic, geopolitical fuckery going on at the moment, and the sheer grief that comes with it.

I’m a guidance counselor/psychologist for teenagers and it’s getting really hard to motivate young people to work for a future they don’t believe in.

They look at ther future and see global warming, wwIII, unemployement, political unstability, poison in everything  they eat, the earth and animals dying all around them.

I saw this video where someone was asking french teens in the 50s how they imagine the future would be. The war hadn’t been over for long and yet it was all positive with like peace and flying cars and such. Then they went and ask the same questions to nowadays teens and hell that was depressing. Some still had hope, but it was just that “well I hope I’ll have a nice house and maybe some kid” but there was such a hesitancy to it, like they didn’t dare to hope too much.

People mock Greta Thunberg but what they don’t get is that when she said “you stole my dreams”, it was the truth.

Young people don’t get to dream like they used to. They don’t dream anymore, they grief all that won’t be anymore and that’s just so fucking sad.

The fact that both the tweet and these reblogs are pre-pandemic makes this post even worse

I’m sure all you Tumblr users have heard by now about the changes being made to Tumblr’s ecosystem so that the site can make more money. And I’m sure most of you are as uneasy as I am or, in fact, are angry about the proposed changes.

The reason they need to make more money is simple: Tumblr is $30 million USD in debt.

For this site to run and for them to pay employees, the site needs to generate revenue.

This place maybe a hellsite but it’s our hellsite. We are still here because we actually like it here. Besides, the other social media sites are crashing or will crash soon. Where else would we go?

Now, I did some research. There are at least 300 million users and over 500 million blogs. One of the cheapest things to buy on the Tumblr store is the crab package you can gift to another blog, which is $3 USD.

If each and everyone of us buys a crab package, we get to keep Tumblr alive and kicking. @oracleoutlook suggested that we make a holiday of it on July 29th. It seems to have resonated with people. Others have also asked for that to extend to August 5th, as some people don’t get paid til the beginning of the month.

Many people have already agreed to celebrate July 29th as Crab Day, a day of posting crab memes and gifting crabs to other users. And if you cannot afford to buy crabs, that is a-okay! Participate in the crab memes. Who would pass up the chance to make and reblog memes about crabs, after all?

This hellsite is ours. Let us remind them of that.
